Shahid Kapur, who just celebrated his 28th birthday, has lots of reasons to feel good about life. The promos of his forthcoming film, Kaminey has hit the theatres and his new look in the film has got him a host of admirers and fans.
Kaminey, which is being directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, sees Shahid coming together with Priyanka Chopra. The actor will be seen in a double role in movie and he has worked on his body and acquired a tougher look for the film. Shahid, who has the makings of a chocolate-boy hero, seems to have undergone an image transformation for the movie and the looks seems to have already made him very popular, according to reports. If this is the case before the film releases, then one is sure that when Kaminey does release, Shahid will manage to pull in the crowds, specially his legion of female fans. The film is being much talked about, specially with rumours of Shahid and Priyanka's involvement doing the rounds. There is lot being said about the chemistry that the two actors share on screen as well and that will make it one of selling points of the movie. If he has a different look in Kaminey, in Ken Ghosh's Yahoo, Shahid will be seen in a more conventional avataar, so everything seems to be working out very for him. The Kismet connection seems to have happened.

Two days before Oscars, Rahman escaped accident

His double win at the Oscars has been celebrated and talked about. But not many know that A R Rahman had a close shave while rehearsing for his performance at the Academy Awards: a chandelier came crashing down seconds after the music maestro moved away from the spot.

"I really don't know what happened. Two days before the Oscars we were rehearsing at one of the theatres for the Oscars, the Jay Leno Show and the Oprah Winfrey Show when a massive chandelier, covering a portion of the ceiling, crashed to the spot just a split second after I moved away," Rahman told IANS, recalling the nerve-wracking experience.

Asin’s constant escor

It is quite common in the film circuit for mothers of actresses to accompany them where they go. However, in Asin’s case it is her father who has taken up the role. Joseph Thottumkal is accompanying her wherever she goes. Recently, the star’s dad was spotted by her side when she attended the Women Achievers’ Awards function.

Sources have it that Joseph Thottumkal is now spending so much time with his daughter that he could end up winding his business.
